River Scene Trail, Castlewood State Park
Distance: 1.2 miles round trip
Location: south of Ballwin, Missouri
Date: July 24, 2013
The River Scene Trail is one of several trails in Castlewood State Park, but it is probably the most interesting because for about half of its length it follows the ridge along a bluff overlooking the Meramec River. I only hiked about 0.6 miles of this trail to some of the overlooks along the it. The views were great (relatively speaking), but the park was quite busy with many people hiking and biking on the trail.
